You can position the sky in any direction by touching and dragging. The buttons across the bottom of the display provide access to a multitude of functions and settings. After setting up your own location, selecting a horizon background, and then making sure your time zone and daylight savings time settings are correct, you are presented with the display similar to the one shown in figure 1. When you open SkySafari 3 Pro on the iPad, you are presented with a display, based on a default location and time. Let me use a few examples to help illustrate some of the many capabilities of this powerful application. The application also takes advantage of using the built in gyro on our portable devices allowing you to position your sky display relative to where you are looking in the night sky.
